This is a general guide to breeding. There are various methods of breeding which can be found on some of the websites on our links page, but this is how we do it.
Before breeding please be sure that you can dedicate your time (up to 5months) to raise your babies and have the space for up to 300 fry. Once old enough you will need to have plenty of jars to separate the males into and a way of keeping the water in each jar at a constant temperature. It takes a lot of commitment to raise a healthy spawn.
It is always helpful to have an outlet for your babies too or else you may be inundated with unwanted Bettas. So do your research and find out if any local aquatic shops would be prepared to take any from you if you find you're struggling to sell or rehome them.
